eNewsletter DECEMBER 2014

December is here and it's time to wrap up 2014 in a big silver bow as we celebrate our 25th anniversary! If you have been following our newsletters this year, you would know that Gough Plastics has been celebrating all year long! Twenty-five years in the business is a huge accomplishment and we're very proud to reach this milestone. We are in such a festive mood that we have SIX Special Offers for you this month! Make sure you read carefully to find out how to win one of our very special Christmas gifts! So let's take a look back at 1989, the year it all started for Gough Plastics…

eNewsletter December 2014 - Movie of the Year: Rain Man

Movie of the Year: Rain Man

The Oscar winning movie in 1989 was Rain Man. Although the movie had nothing to do with rain, December is the start of the wet season, so we all know that rain is on its way! That means now is the perfect time to fill up your rainwater tanks! Gough Plastics manufactures rainwater tanks ranging from a 375L oval tank ($341.00) to a large 10,000L round tank ($1,694.00), so there's a perfect one for every application. For our special Christmas Celebration gift, be the first person to reply to this newsletter and put "Rain Man" in the subject line to win a copy of the movie!

eNewsletter December 2014 - Album of the Year: Crowded House

Album of the Year: Crowded House Temple of Low Men

Temple of Low Men won best album in 1989, and last month, the Guinness Book of World Records organised a meeting between the world's lowest (ok, shortest) and tallest men. In case you're wondering, Chandra Dangi from Nepal is just 54.6cm and Sultan Kosen from Turkey stands 2.51m tall! But even the world's tallest man can't compete with the new Gough Plastics Heavy Duty Cranefoot! With a length of 61cm and a weight of just 11.4kg, the new Cranefoot 540 HD ($407.00) is certified to 16 tonnes. It has smooth rounded edges for greater personal safety and a sturdy ergonomic handle that's easy to grip, making it the new Cranefoot of choice for borer lifters, vehicle loading cranes and large EWPs. Just for the record, Sultan's feet are only 36cm long, but he does hold the record for the world's largest hands! For your chance to win a copy of the Guinness Book of Records, be the first to reply with "Guinness Book" in the subject line. Or, if the Crowded House CD is more to your liking, be the first to reply with "Crowded House" in the subject line and a copy of the CD will be yours.

eNewsletter December 2014 - The fall of the Berlin Wall

The fall of the Berlin Wall

In November of 1989, Germany was the centre of attention as the Berlin Wall finally became a part of history. The wall was made with concrete slabs, wire mesh, and endless rolls of barbed wire, and took 17 months to demolish. Here at Gough Plastics, we make a much more environmentally (and politically) friendly wall system! The Poly Gabion is designed to use local materials as fill, and requires fewer hours for installation compared to traditional structures. This creates significant time and cost savings. And with Christmas approaching, we'd like to give you the opportunity to build a wall of your own…with Lego! We have two gifts up for grabs with this special offer, so be the first to reply to this email with "Lego" or "Lego Friends" in the subject line, and you will find a Lego kit under your tree this Christmas!

eNewsletter December 2014 - Creation of the World Wide Web

Creation of the World Wide Web

The internet was born in 1989, along with famous celebrities like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Taylor Swift. Since the early days of dial-up connections and no Google, we have seen an explosion of online information and integration. Most of you will be reading this newsletter through your email, but you can also find a link to all of our newsletters on the Gough Plastics website and more information on our Facebook page. If you like to do your shopping online, all of the Gough Plastics Tuff-A-Box containers and Underbody Gear can be purchased with a few clicks of your mouse. Just follow the links on our website. With 47 million twitter followers and 72 million Facebook friends, Taylor Swift is firmly part of the internet generation! Her current album is titled 1989, and if you would like a copy of your own, be the first to reply with "1989" in the subject line to be the winner of this Christmas Special.

Happy Holidays! With a full year of celebrating under our belt, Gough Plastics will be taking a small break over the holidays. Our office will close on Tuesday, December 23rd at 3:00pm and will re-open on Monday January 5th. We wish you all the best for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
