PLC / DDC Systems

As discussed previously the small battery powered digital counters operate totally independently of other powered features of the toilet building. While the data given from this system is fairly accurate it does nothing more than count usage.

The next level of control is an integrated   system that uses either   PLC System (Programmable Logic Control) or DDC ( Digital Data controller) depending on the level of control and sophistication required to manage the toilet system.   These units require an external power source and can be powered by 240 volts, 24volt or 12 volts DC (Solar Array).   This option becomes more economical when powering combinations of door counters, powered rotary ventilators, and pump controls etc.

These control units have the capacity to receive incoming signals from door counters, tank float sensors, etc and use this data to then switch on and off pump systems. The units have predetermined programs installed ex factory to operate the functions necessary for the correct operation of the system.

To extract the data from the unit there is a digital screen provided that shows the recorded door counter numbers. Simply scroll through the numbers to record the data manually. The data can then be cleared by resetting the unit manually ready for new information. A locked running total is normally kept as well.

Should the need for a program change to occur a new program is prepared and down loaded through a lap top connected to the unit.

Contact your agent for further information and costing details. As each unit is unique a site specific costing will be required.

By coupling the PLC system with good quality reed switches, this system will supply accurate data for entry into management programs that will be of great value when planning for future requirements.

Each PLC is programmed to the requirements of individual sites. Data may be downloaded manually by scrolling through the display screen or by connecting your laptop PC and downloading.
